This item works great and exactly what I needed. Kind of cheap made, but so was the price. The room I’m renting doesn’t get heated as well as the rest of the house, so I set out first to buy an electric blanket. However, upon further research I discovered most electric blankets in my budget range were either poorly made or made of a fabric that leaves fuzziness all over you and your bed.
I came across this little gem in related products, and while I was wary of a pad vs. a blanket, I haven’t been disappointed. The biggest difference is the pad may not seem like it’s warm enough upon first use. I don’t want to be frying all night, and if you’re looking to feel like your blankets just came out of the dryer, you will have to crank it up to 9. While it’s nice to get into, it’s too hot for me to sleep with. I found leaving it on 2 or 3 kept me exactly as warm as I prefer to sleep.
On those especially cold nights, I found turning it up high while I’m getting ready for bed and leaving the blankets over it made it cozy to get into, then I’d turn it down to 2 or 3 for the night. Plus you save on utilities. I now prefer it to an electric blanket.
I was reluctant to get this as I’ve read heating blankets lose their ability to get hot after 1 year. So I tried the pad instead. I’ve had this pad for 1 month and absolutely LOVE it! Hopefully it will continue to get hot even after 1 year.
On the negative side controller breaks often. The initial controller didn’t work, so they shipped us a replacement which took almost 6 weeks to arrive. That one worked fine for about 3 months and then also broke. Now, we can’t locate a phone number or address for Biddeford, their web-site is down and their 1-800 number is not being answered. Guess we are stuck with a broken controller. This product is poorly made, and certainly not worth the money.
Biddeford Heated Mattress Pad. The pad was for my father and I guess it was what he wanted because I haven’t heard any complaints. I have one of these in a queen size. Not the same brand but was glad they are similar. This one has a better control. I love these heated mattress pads. They go on easily, are no nonsense, and you cannot feel the wires.
I have a tempurpedic mattress and they are a little cold the winter but I would not change my mattress for anything. However, in the winter, a heated mattress pad really makes my bed comfy. I have used this type heated mattress pad for the last 5 years with no harmful effect to memory foam that I can tell. Great product. The fitted skirt is extra big so that if you have a thick mattress you will have no problem putting this on.

It gets you Good Night Sleep and has dual control for king size. Would recommend any heated mattress pad to anyone who hates getting into cold a cold bed at night and to anyone who has trouble falling asleep and staying a sleep because it is cold or drafty. No need to bundle up just to go to bed. I turn on at 6 at night then shut if off before going to sleep. I’ve had our mattress pad for over 5 years now. I use it every night in the winter. It is easy to wash and you just have to hang it to dry. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys climbing into a warm bed at night.
Excellent for cold nights. Takes a little while to warm up. Saves on heating bill at night. I have purchased 3 of these, one for our home, one for our vacation home & one for our daughter. This bed warmer will keep you snug as a bug all night long. Just turn on a few minutes before going to bed and no more cold sheets. I love it so much that I bought three more in twin size for our kids. Warms the bed and then stays warm all night. I turn our thermostat to the house way down, because we know everyone is warm in their beds. Only criticism I have is that it takes about 10 min to warm up. Other than that, these are great.
